Make the bed

They say how well you make your bed in the morning determines how your day will be, so make it a habit to make your bed as soon as you get up. Even if you do not clean the rest of the house during the day, making the bed is a simple way to help keep the room tidy (plus a made bed is much more inviting to get into at the end of the day!) Another tip is to invest in storage beds, which provide useful additional space to stow away bedding and other items that might clutter your bedroom.

Do your dishes after every meal

A simple act of cleaning up after every meal will go a long way to prevent piling up of unwashed dishes. This will help you stay on top of your kitchen instead of having it turn into a disastrous space! No one really wants to do them but cleaning only after the next meal will make things easier to put off and this vicious cycle will then never end.

Make use of a washer and dryer at home and do a little bit each day. Spread things out so you don’t feel overwhelmed by all the laundry you have to do. To make things easier, sort your clothes beforehand to load into the machines at a faster rate. Once it’s dry, make it a point to fold them and put it into drawers or closets before taking a rest on your comfy bed.

Schedule a day to clean the house

Make it a point to clean a certain part of the house on a scheduled basis, this will act as a reminder to tidy up your place! Given the hectic lives we lead, it is easy to forget the little things we have to get done (and cleaning the house is one of them). Set a day every week to clean up your space for an hour or so and ensure everything is in place.

Put everything back in its place

It's so much easier to clean the house when everything is kept in its original position (this is when investing in storage furniture can be handy). Be sure that small items are not lying around all over the place. This becomes a more pleasant sight to come home to after a long of work. Always put the item back after it’s used and you will never have to worry about not being able to find it the next time round!
