Sharing a couple of our favourite,no-regret purchases after living in and using them for the past 6 months. Firstly, we had a huge blank wall to decorate. But did we want art on our wall? In this economy? No! We chose to be functional and got pegboards, in fact, we got 4.

And while we’re not brave enough to show all 4 panels (still messy), we’re getting thee with our coffee corner one. Peep the top panels where we’re temporarily hanging out medals from a previous run in Korea.
Next, across our pegboard wall, is our favorite purchase from Taobao. An auto-open rubbish bin. We love that it has legs. Hear us out - firstly we don’t have to bend over to throw our rubbish and we can clean under it! We got the 9L version and kind of regretted not getting a bigger one for the kitchen. Batteries are rechargeable, or, they also provide a holder for AA batteries (4x). We’ve used it for half a year now and only had to charge the batt once. Never loved a bin as much as this.
It even has light so if you’re throwing rubbish in the dark (why would you) you can see where you’re dumping it. It holds open if you tap the open button, or automatically opens for 10s when you put your hand over it to throw something. 100% hygienic.
Then after moving in, we realized that we kept wetting the tap and the sink area in the bathroom. But we didn’t want another cloth hanging in there since we already have our bath towel and hand towel. In comes this little cloud sponge that absorbs all these little drip drops, and prevents watermark from forming on out taps.
It’s a bonus that this sits so cute on our countertop. It’s smooth to hold and absorbs a lot of liquid. We’ve also read reviews of how others use this in their kitchen for spills on Shopee!
This is a totally unnecessary purchase but we sometimes get insane wind through the windows and also prefer the fan because of our sensitive noses. However this means we can’t light a candle.
So we got a candle warmer! This is a much safer option for us since we don’t have to be as cautious with fire (the candle warmer has a plug with a fuse).
This is height adjustable, and is dimmable. Plus, it acts as an ambient light in the evening when we chill by the TV. We’re still testing out some other purchases, and there are lots more we love.
