3BR Scandi Condo - No Service Yard? No Problem

Welcome to our scandi home! We live in a 3 bedroom condo, and as some of you may know, condos do not come with service yards. Hence, we had to get very creative in using the space around our house. In this post, I will walk you through how we worked around our space and created a solution that fulfils our service yard needs! In this first picture, you see where we keep our dryer - our balcony! We did not have enough indoor space to keep a dryer. Hence, we moved our dryer outdoors. This works well because balcony usually does not have a water source, and you don't need a water source for a dryer. Beside it we also got a retractable ladder. This retractable ladder not only saves space, but also helps us reach high cabinets - especially important in our condo with high ceilings! 
Above the dryer, we got a cabinet to store random service yard essentials. This cabinet was from ikea! 
We also installed a drying rack on our balcony. We use the drying rack for clothes that are more brittle, and will not take too well to a drying machine. This is what it looks like when it is fully extended. This drying rack has worked well for us thus far - no complaints! I also really like that it is grey in colour, and blends really well into our balcony. Hence, it does not ruin the balcony aesthetic at all! 
Next, we have our washing machine in the kitchen. This was the only option, as we needed a water supply and an area that was large enough. We created carpentry beside to keep our laundry pods, for easy access for laundry. Some people end up getting just 1 washer-dryer, instead of a separate washing machine and a separate dryer. we heard lots of horror stories about how a washer-dryer takes much longer to dry clothes, and cause clothes shrinkage. hence, we decided to get separate washer and dryer. And to this day we do not regret this decision! That's all for now folks! Hope this was helpful to you.
