  • Hello everyone! Welcome to @hometoyeohaven! The main theme of our house was Japandi. There are currently two hoomans and one dog living here, so here we are documenting our house journey! This is what you see upon entering the house and open concept kitchen, dining area and living area!
  • Original floorplan - here, what you are seeing was the original floorplan. It is a dumbbell layout with MBR on the left, while the common bedroom and study room is on the right. As this is a small 2 bedder unit, we knew we needed more space for our existing king sized bed! After some discussion with our ID, we decided to swop both rooms and hack the wall between our study room and common bedroom. Also as the current living room looks really cramp, we also decided to hack the half wall and make it into an open kitchen concept and no regrets!
  • Final Floorplan - this is the updated floorplan after all the hacking and measurements for the cabinetry. We also closed up the existing common bedroom door so that we can have a bigger tv area. With the expanded area for the MBR, we can now build up a semi walk-in wardrobe area.
  • This is what you will see if you stand in the middle of the house and face the door. On the right, you will see a hidden cabinetry. I will share more on what’s inside in the later post. On the left, you see a fridge and a hidden area for my washer and dryer!
  • This is my open concept kitchen. We had a sintered stone countertop with KitKat tiles as the backsplash. We were so worried about the maintenance of the tiles, but so far so good. Our contracter has also done a great job aligning the tiles!
  • Moving to the right of the kitchen, you will see our dining table! Loving the ryokan inspired lampshade as dining lights!
  • This is what it looks like when you turn on the lights, so cozy!
  • Continue to right is our Living area. And lastly the balcony!
  • This is behind one of the hidden door, leading towards our MBR! Love how the dining lights are reflected via the mirror!
  • When I go into the walk in wardrobe area, you will see a curved in tatami platform area for my king sized bed
  • Here’s the bed with linen bedsheets
  • Here you will see a small recessed area with bedside lights for us to end the day
  • This is our MBS Aesop inspired bathroom!
  • Really loving the bathroom for us to end our day
