  • Welcome to the @space.of.l !
  • Originally a 2-bed, 2-bath condo in Redhill, we transformed it into a 1-bed, 1.5-bath home that perfectly suits our lifestyle - by tearing down the wall of the second bedroom to merge it with the living room space. This change not only opened up the area but also allowed us to create a larger and more versatile living environment (and more space for our Shetland Sheepdog Luke to run around)! Additionally, we converted one of the full bathrooms into a combined powder room and laundry room, optimising our storage and utility space. Our interior designer had the brilliant idea of adding a full height see-through bookshelf in the living space to provide a certain degree of segregation between the carved out study space, without compromising too much on the connectivity and spaciousness of the living area.
  • One of the most fun parts of the renovation journey was that I learnt to use SketchUp to visualize our ideas and plan the furniture placement. This tool was super useful in helping us experiment with different layouts and ensure everything fits perfectly. Not only was SketchUp a fun tool to play with, it also helped bring our vision to life and helped us make informed decisions throughout the renovation process.
  • Right after entering the space, you are greeted by an open concept kitchen featuring black, white, and silver tone laminate carpentry work. The design is modern and sleek, yet functional - with fully equipped kitchen appliances, perfectly blending style with practicality. Opposite the kitchen counter, you’ll find full-height storage that includes a cozy coffee nook. This clever use of space provides ample storage while adding a charming spot for our morning coffee routine.
  • The living area is right next to the open kitchen. The removal of the second bedroom wall has significantly increased the living space, making it ideal for both relaxation and entertaining. A floor-to-ceiling mirror in the living room creates a visual expansion, making the area feel even larger and more open. This addition enhances the sense of space and adds a touch of elegance. We’ve furnished the living room with a mix of chic and modern designer pieces, blending comfort with style. The centerpiece is definitely our plush, mustard-yellow Togo sofa, which adds a pop of color. The minimalist shelving unit serves as a display for our curated collection of books and decorative items - and doubles up as a canvas for us to express our creativity.
  • To best utilize the space, we installed Ziptrack to convert the balcony into our dining area. This not only expands our living space but also provides a unique dining experience with the unblocked city view.
  • Tucked away behind the shelving unit, the study is designed to be both practical and cozy. The minimalist desk and elegant chair ensure a comfortable workspace, while the decor reflects our personal style. We added roman blind to soften the natural light and make it a pleasant spot for work.
  • The bedroom is kept simple and minimalistic. A wall-hung nightstand provides both functionality and character to the space, maintaining the room’s clean lines and minimalist aesthetic.
  • Both the powder room and the master ensuite bathroom follow the same design to keep it consistent. We’ve chosen a darker theme for sleekness and sophistication. Since we don't really need two bath areas in our apartment, we converted the shower area in the powder room into a storage for washer tower.
