  • Our kitchen was done up very simply with a marbled sintered stone countertop and backsplash, juxtaposed with a warm wood laminate across our bottom cabinets. We did not have the luxury of choice to do an open kitchen due to the location of the bomb shelter, so we tried our best to make it look as wide and open as possible given the confined space. One intentional design idea is to forego top-hung cabinets on one side of the kitchen. We also attempted to make our kitchen as functional as possible, and the choice of a sintered stone slab really encapsulates this idea.
  • Countertop space is extremely precious to us, and going for an induction hob would mean that it would double up as extra space when not in use. We, however, could not forego having a large and deep sink which makes cleaning up so much easier. No hood was necessary for we do not exactly do heavy cooking - one tip while planning your kitchen layout is to think about your cooking habits.
