  • Welcome to WumahWishun! Located in yes, Yishun, which was both our last choices for our first house — and yet here we are. Being deprived of our own private space since young, this house is a simple, practical and ultiately, a blank canvas that allows us to fill it up with treasure, trinkets, and whatever that give us that boost of dopamine.
  • When we got our floorplan, we realised that we had very little layouts to play around with as there were no walls that could be hacked away. So let's say goodbye to our dream open kitchen concept! However, with the limitation, we were able to significantly reduce our renovation fees. We engaged a contractor directly and we were quoted SGD13,570 — which worked out great for us as we did not intend to get any renovation loans.
  • As you step into our front door, you're greeted with a feast on our dining table! Not enough table space? Fret not, our table is extendable! The MR of the house gets extremely excited to extend the table for the guests, as it easily wows them. The MRS on the other hand, is very happy with the mismatched chairs and bench while maintaining a consistent wood tone. Having a consistent wood tone/shade throughout the house makes it easier to style the interior while looking cohesive! We've paired our walls with a subtle shade of brown that matches the wood accents in the house!
  • Then we move on to the living area. We made it as open as possible as we both prefer to sit on the floor. Having no built-in carpentry, allows us to shift the layout around according to our needs and whenever we get bored too!
  • This is where we hold our game nights with our friends, enjoy the little sunlight that the house gets, and enjoy the music! The Serif TV is a conversation starter as it is not a conventional TV. As a creative, we geek out over the side profile of the TV looking like a letter 'I' in a serif font. It is a great furniture piece, that blends in easily with any theme. We've decorated our TV with toys that we've thrifted — The MRS loves Pokemon, so you can expect them scattered around the house!
  • Still maintaining the soft brown and wood hues around the house, our kitchen is as simple as it can be.
  • Unpopular opinion — we opted out of doing a built-in wardrobe for our Master bedroom! 1. Saves costs 2. Weren't sure of where is the best position based on our daily habits 3. Limit our clothing! Lesser shopping! Can you spot the Pikachu?
  • Our second bedroom is converted into our Prayer Room. We maximised the cosiness in this room because we want to this room to be as relaxing as possible for ourselves and our guests as well.
  • And lastly, our office space! We got a custom desk to fit the corner of the room because that is where we get the most sun — a perfect spot for our plants too. We store our camera equipments here and our unique pieces here. And that's all for now! We'll share more along the way, thanks for joining along our house tour. See you next week!
