  • For our entry area, we wanted to have lots of storage for our commonly used items so we wouldn't have to keep going in and out of our store room to take items. Can you spot all the cabinets and cubbies in this picture?
  • Most importantly, lots of shoe storage! We keep all our shoes inside so we asked for an entire shoe cabinet to be hidden right by the door. The entire door is supported by a wheel on the floor and opens with a press so that we can have a continuous mirror in front of it.
  • Next to our shoe cabinet, we have some standard cabinets. We decided to get some plastic boxes to help us sort out our commonly used household supplies. This allows us to get supplies quickly and leave most of our long-term storage items in the store room.
  • On the other side, we have a small bench built in to the niche area to help with wearing shoes. The bench has a drawer included so we can store shoe cleaning brushes and other supplies inside. The hook and shelf above is for us to place car keys and reusable bags for quick access right before going out. For the DB box, we changed the doors with a laminate of our choice and added air vents above to allow our router some cooling.
  • The kitchen is another place at home where things can get messy fast. A principal consideration for our kitchen was to keep our counter areas clear as much as possible. Equipment like the Wells water dispenser is more pricey but helps us maximise the counter space available. Likewise, we opted for as much cabinet space as possible in this area so we have the option to segregate our kitchen equipment, supplies and dishes.
  • One of the exceptions for the countertop rule were the knife block and storage for our kitchen utensils. I made this stoneware vessel for the spoons with an inner lip to keep the utensils from opening up too much when stored.
  • Our bedroom is the last area where we were more conscious about home organisation, since most HDB bedrooms don't have that much extra space for shelves or cabinets.
  • Aside from the cabinets shown in previous posts, we integrated our dresser into the entire cabinet area to maximise our space available. The mirror is stored when not in use, allowing us to keep everything compact and avoid having a separate dresser table.
