  • Hi and welcome to our home. First impressions are the most important when it comes to welcoming guests into our home. As with most older HDB flats, the entrance is typically smaller than the newer flats. This is the case with our maisonette. However we decided to make the most of it and decided to go with black and white for our gate and main door. The entrance colours gives a glimpse of the colour palette and style of our home inside. For practical purposes, we decided to install long handles on both the main gate and main door. This is to allow easy openings, pretty much like how you will normally open glass doors in shopping malls.
  • We installed a long black handle on the main door as well so that it’s easier to push open the main door as it’s quite heavy. Synchronised smart digital locks were installed on the main gate and door. We just have to key in the password or scan our fingerprint once and both the gate + door will be unlocked at the same time.
  • The view once we enter our house.
  • A very small entry way. To the right of the entryway is a full height shoe cabinet and to the left is a full length 1.8M mirror. The mirror allows us to check our appearance before we leave the house. The main door was installed with a door stopper at the top. This allows the door to be open to allow ventilation. A simple push and the door will auto close allowing the digital lock to auto lock. Very convenient.
  • A simple down light lights up our small entryway. The shoe cabinet also acts as a separation between the entryway and the dining area. A small stool is placed in front of the shoe cabinet for us to sit down to put on our shoes.
  • The shoe cabinet is full height and is able to house up to 45 pairs of shoes. Having a shoe cabinet improves the quality of life of a household. One can consider to custom make a shoe cabinet to suit your needs.
  • The last row of the shoe cabinet is cut out into a niche to allow easy access of frequently worned shoes and slippers.
  • AA tracks are installed in the shoe cabinet. This allows the shelves to be removable and adjustable to suit the height of our shoes and boots.
  • Another small niche is cut from the shoe cabinet to serve as a small storage area for us to store useful leave the house items such as face masks, tissues, hand sanitizers and of course keys.
  • The switches for the entryway down light and ceiling fan+ light is on the side of the shoe cabinet. Wifi password is also stickied on the shoe cabinet wall for guests. We also put the remote controls for the air con and ceiling fan here.
