  • Welcome to our home office, study, mini library, and (though very seldom), a makeshift bedroom for visiting guest! We converted one of the common bedrooms into a multi-purpose room, with the main use being a home office/study. This is the first lay-out we had when we first moved. As we want to keep the space flexible, the only built-in we did was the bookshelf on the left.
  • These black-framed glass dividers were installed to demarcate the study from the rest of the house. They are especially useful when everyone has to work/study from home, giving the much-needed privacy. The partitions help to block noise from outside the working are, but still offer ample light and openness.
  • On most days, we leave them folded/unused as we prefer the open space.
  • This is the current lay-out of the study. The standing desk is pushed to the window to give a cafe feel. We often use the free-up space to do home yoga / exercises. We seldom have visiting guest staying over our place, but when we do (and if they don't mind to), we pull up an inflatable mattress, close the glass dividers and turn the aircon on, converting the study into a makeshift guest room.
  • Working desk
  • The beauty of not having built-in study desk is the flexibility to move it around when we're bored. An alternative lay-out, moving the desk to face the feature wall.
  • Or simply push the desk to the middle of the room.
  • The bookshelf is the only built-in we did for this room. We chose closed cabinet over open bookshelf as we don't want to deal with dust and the regular cleaning that comes with it.
  • A quick peek inside the bookshelf :)
