    • When it comes to household aesthetics, I am very particular about purchasing / owning furniture & decor that fits the overall look of our house. I also always make sure both the colour and texture complements existing ones
    • I have received comments a number of times, them wondering how it was possible for there to be this many wooden furniture in our house and yet, none of them clashes with one another. I admit - it was a very valid concern I had too. Gotta give myself the credit that I seem to possess a decent sense of putting things together homogeneously 🥹
    • For our house, I had to make decisions based on the existing vinyl we had chosen not to change, taken over from the previous owners. I will also share that this specific shade of brown was not my personal preference - its red undertone is too strong for my liking but hey, we saved 10k from not changing the vinyl! 🤭 Besides, I was confident to be able to work with this brown :-)
    • It also meant that it would be unwise should we have furniture of this reddish-brown oak shade too. If you noticed, none of our wooden furniture has this red undertone. They are more towards an orange or yellowish brown This itself already prevents "clashing"!
    • I personally also believe that warm lights come together with wood extremely well. The glow the lights emit seem to bounce off these wooden surfaces, accentuating the colours
