  • Welcome to our second home in the far east of Singapore! We had a checklist when we were looking for our second home, and although this home wasn't the best choice at that time, it checked most of our boxes: 1. Separate Wet and Dry Kitchen: Most condos now have very small kitchens tucked in corners with almost no chance to alter the layout or hack the walls (due to hidden piping) to include an island or peninsula. We had a peninsula in our first home and we loved the space it provided for meal preps or hosting friends and family. 2. Household Shelter: This is a MUST for us, as we have accumulated too many things from our first home. Some condo layouts we viewed do not have a household shelter or they only have a small multipurpose room. 3. Wide Entryway 4. 5.5m Wide Living & Dining Area with a High Ceiling: Good for hosting friends and family with lots of seating space and can also spill over into the big balcony. 5. We loved the big balcony with a NE facing so my plants gets lots of good morning sun to thrive. 6. Good size rooms with squarish layout: We viewed a few condos with super small rooms, and the bedrooms and bathrooms in our home are of a good comfortable size.
  • We liked that the entryway was rather wide and allowed us to install these tall cabinets at the side to store our big collection of shoes & slippers, household DIY items, and other knick knacks. This allowed us to hide away all our mess as we are actually maximalist people. We loved this MUJI Oak feel laminate which we also used in our first home, so choosing laminates was very easy as we only wanted 1 single laminate for the whole house for a consistent look and feel. The tall cabinets have a empty space below so that we can park our robot vacuum there and also put our shoes and slippers there.
  • We installed this Arch mirror from Island Living near our entryway so that we can check ourselves out before heading out of the house. The rattan console also functions as an space to put our wallets and access cards as well as diffuser, candles etc.
  • Our living room was wide enough to accomodate a L shaped sofa from Castlery and a 2m wide TV console from Kave Home.
  • Behind our Living Room is our Dining Room. The 1.8m table from Castlery can sit up to 8 persons comfortably. Our vinyl flooring is from Arc Floor and the model name is Autumn Oak. I love the MUJI-ish warm look it gives and the texture is also comfortable.
  • This space was a dining area for the previous family. We decided to convert it into a Dry Kitchen with a 2m long peninsula for hosting and potluck as well as storage cabinets below for our kitchen stuff.
  • Learning from our previous home, we decided a tiled backsplash is not for us as it was too difficult to clean and maintain after heavy cooking. So we went with a slab of Dekton for the backsplash instead for a clean and seamless look with the countertop. Very easy to wipe down and clean after cooking! For the wet kitchen, we went with wooden looking tiles which matched our Autumn Oak vinyl so that it looks more seamless. The tiles are from Hafary, model name is EC.Walkyria Oak.
  • Our house comes with a rubbish chute in the kitchen next to the household shelter. The chute was rather unsightly for me so I got our ID to custom build a cabinet around it to conceal it and the top shelf is for me to place small decor items.
  • Welcome to our guest bathroom! We decided to go with a neutral theme with kitkat tiles from Hafary for the feature wall so as to have a clean and simple look for this bathroom. The tiles for this bathroom are the same tiles used in our kitchen. They are from Hafary - EC Walkyria Oak.
  • And here's our Master Bathroom. For this bathroom, we decided to go with big slab tiles. Why? Because we had subway tiles in our previous master bathroom and it was a pain to clean. We both decided big slab tiles was the way to go for easier cleaning and maintenance. Plus we also fell in love with the grains of this marble looking tiles from Hafary.
  • Before entering our Master Bedroom, we'll walk past my wardrobe first. I got our ID to custom build this cabinet with lighting for my bags but I also wanted some modest privacy so I requested for fluted glass instead of clear glass.
  • And of course, here's a photo of my happy space - our urban jungle in our balcony! Home to more than 50 plants, this space is always a work in progress as I shift the plants and planters around and add new plants to my collection.
