  • Hello to our 4th post of Before & After! It’s fun to share these photos as I get to reminisce the bare state of our home before renovation. Without further ado, let’s see how we transformed our master bedroom bathroom! Our toilet is long and narrow, with the basin, toilet bowl and shower area aligned in one straight line. We did not change this layout as we prefer the shower area to be on the most inner side. This keeps most of the moisture away from the toilet entrance too, thereby separating the dry and wet areas more effectively.
  • After! The theme remained greyish and minimalist. Even though it seemed like we could have kept the original BTO tiles, but changing them from 30*60cm to 60*60cm makes a whole lot of difference! It will make the space look larger and less grout lines too. But the main reason why we picked grey tiles was for a timeless design. I’ve had grey for my room as a teenager and safe to say, it will never get boring or outdated.
  • Another view showing our tile selections.

  • The one thing we could have considered before the renovation started was the toilet bowl trap distance from wall. Unfortunately, BTO provided a longer trap distance in our MBR toilet at 9”, hence the half wall is much more extended than the renders! Another thing we really wanted to have was a LED mirror with Bluetooth function. The Mrs has been enjoying music while showering and it remains a necessity for her in our new home too. A LED mirror also provides sensor lighting and adequately lights up the toilet especially when it’s night time.
  • The importance of a huge ass mirror - enlarges a small space! Ours is 100*60cm 🤭
