  • Hello and welcome back again to our next post!🫶🏻 Today we’ll be sharing more before photos of our dining area and how we styled it differently to get to where we are today, piece by piece and item by item.😜✨
  • As usual, I started off with drawing on photos to visualise what suits the space. Nowadays there’s lot of other tools that you can use to visualise better hahaha.
  • Realised 3 shelves would be too much for the wall and ended up doing 2 shelves instead. We had a liking for black furniture during that era without knowing why hahaha. Maybe in our head we thought it would look nice and moody.😆 Shelves are from Ikea (need to challenge myself not to mention Ikea for every post omg hahaha) and we got our uncle to help us to install them to minimise costs.🤭
  • Sold off the hand-me-down ikea extendable table and got this dining table from HipVan that we love!🥹 During that period in our lives, the home office wasn’t ready as my sister was living with us. So the mister had to work with the dining table as his work desk. Had to live with having the office chair in that spot and being an eyesore.
  • This was when I slowly discovered my passion and hobby for styling my own home.🥹 Tried to be punny (funny) too hahaha.
  • Decided that the shelves were making the space feel small and cramped so decided to remove the 2 shelves and installed them in our cosy cat room. Also repainted them white to blend in with the room better, check out that post to see the shelves in their new space!🤩 Also changed the burger ceiling light and got our uncle to install this pendant light instead. Instantly the dining space felt like a brand new spot! We got our office room ready and the mister shifted his work things away and the dining table was finally in its full glory, uncluttered!😌✨
  • After a while of living with the black furniture, we realised that we preferred the bright and airy aesthetic. So we sold off the set of 4 dining chairs on carousell, also changed the wall mirror to this irregular shaped mirror. Did a photo gallery wall to fill up the empty wall. We regularly replace the posters based on what I like at the moment. In future we can replace them with photos too. The possibilities are endless.🙌🏻 For me, I researched on the best configuration that I felt suited the wall and settled on this one that I liked the most. Stuck the frames onto the walls using 3M Velcro stickers so they’re easily removable and no drilling is required. Again, the whole feel of this space changed.🤭
  • Love to plate things nicely whenever we cooked dinner. The hubs says it’s a lot of effort but it makes me happy to use the nice homewares I bought hahaha. Ladies, yall feel me right?🤣
  • Eventually, I felt that the dining chairs didn’t suit the table because the wooden legs of the chairs were a different colour to the wood of the table. It annoyed the OCD in me haha. Soooo we sold them off and got this “toilet bowl” dining chairs instead. Read our previous dining room post to find how why we call it by that nickname!🤪
  • With the new chairs in the dining space. And Cai Png as a meowdel. The chairs are a great conversation starter. Did a poll on IG about how comfy the dining chairs are and 44% found them to be uncomfortable, including the mister hahaha.🙃
  • We love to host friends and family over too! This was during the recent CNY.
  • Changed up the centrepieces based on our mood, or when the fur kids destroys a vase and I have no choice but to replace it.🥲
  • There you have it, our dining space and how it looks today. Hope you’ve learnt a trick or 2 from our post hehe. See you on the next one!😜🫶🏻
  • As usual, bonus photos of our fur kids as reward for scrolling to the end.❤️
