I’ve always wanted a home with a modern farmhouse vibe. When I saw this feature wall, I knew I had to keep it. It already had that signature farmhouse charm. I just wanted to repaint it to make it feel more modern. The tricky part was that the stones had wide gaps, so before we could paint, we had to fill them in with cement. I used the leftover cement from our kitchen and bathroom renovation, so it was cost-effective and we didn’t need to buy more. I had never worked with cement before, so this was a totally new experience for me! Some stones were missing, so we decided to install a partition to cover that section. It also came in handy for hiding the TV cables. I used tape to measure the table and TV, just to make sure the partition height was spot on and could cover all the cables nicely. The partition has been installed. Having the cables hidden really makes the whole table area look clean and tidy. For this living room makeover, we updated the flooring, wall color, and lighting. We chose warm white lights to bring a soft, elegant glow to the space. Turns out, you don’t need a big budget to give an old space a fresh new look!
