Welcome to our dining space - the highlight of our home! Since our home is small, we integrated both the kitchen and dining area into one. My husband and I are introverted homebodies so we don't host guests often (just enjoying our private time haha 😝). Instead, we utilize condo amenities to host gatherings while keeping our home enough to accommodate just the two of us. 
Since the beginning, we knew we wanted a countertop bar despite the limited space in the kitchen. Our stylist Cheryl from Roomable proposed 2 dining bar options during reno planning, with its pros and cons. We chose Option 1, following our initial goal of having a bright and airy kitchen, yet keeping the curves/round corners. This 1.8m long countertop island also serves as a separator dividing between the kitchen and living room. While the recessed space of the dining bar helps to make the entire space feel lighter, it also enables us to accommodate up to 4 people for small occasions. To integrate the kitchen cabinets and the dining bar more seamlessly, we added a cubby hole with shiplap backing on top of the drawer. 
We used Vulcan sintered stone for our countertop and ribbed fluted column, with a hint of brushed gold laminate sandwiched in between the sintered stone and white laminate base to add that modern luxe touch. For the island stools, we opted for a rattan-backing design with beige cushioned seats to elevate the overall dining experience by injecting different textures. Turning on the night mode! 🌙 The ambient lighting creates a cozy atmosphere when we want to have a romantic dinner at home. Just the perfect excuse for staying in!
