We welcome you into our cosy home, where it feels like it might be always autumn. Warm wood furniture, lit by vintage and kitschy lamps, softened by linen curtains and cushions—you're transported away from the cool, regular lines of the flat's facade. We're inspired by the beloved refurbished wooden farmhouses and cottages you might find in Japan, Taiwan, and Germany. We like that you can't really put a finger on whether it's the inviting Lebensraum of a chalet in Füssen, or a old farmhouse-turned-hostel that you happen across in Kawaguchiko. It's old? It's wood? Bring it in.
A warm light greets you as you step into the entrance, your feet grazing the mellow flagstone floor. A wooden stool is conveniently by the door for you to perch on to remove your footwear and make yourself at home.
Here's the floorplan of our home. The major change is in repartitioning the original living room into our shared study, with half-windows that you encounter the moment you enter the house. We hadn't opted for a kitchen wall, so the living/dining room and the kitchen, which is central to our daily life, makes up a long space in the middle. The former Bedroom 2 is where our rabbit, Lune, spends most of the day, and where we also have a little chill space.

We're back in our combined living/dining room. The idea of merging these two essential spaces is many fold: having the dining table by the window makes the food look so much more delicious, and the meal less dreary; we don't have that much space for a full-sized dining room in most of our 4-room BTOs; Muji has a great living/dining furniture set, something that we wanted to copy, but we wanted the seats and table to be taller, plus more rustic, not minimalistic. We'll leave you to enjoy the rest of your visit at your own leisure. :3
