  • Step into our kitchen through the sliding glass shoji door. This glass door keeps cooking fumes at bay, ensuring the rest of our home remains fresh. We've also used the same sintered stone for both the countertop and backsplash, achieving a seamless look and yet being practical — sintered stone is heatproof, scratch-resistant, and easy to maintain. Oh, and don't miss our compact Wells water dispenser, a sleek space-saver that came highly recommended by a relative. Safe to say, it's been one of our best decisions!
  • I promised to share the story behind our wall sconce in our first post. This unique piece is part of a restaurant rescue project by a local lamp maker who buys plates from closing restaurants and upcycles them into wall sconces. We love how this light fixture not only adds character to our kitchen but also brings a meaningful story with it — from serving food in restaurants to now illuminating our cooking space.
  • The open-shelving in our kitchen is slowly filling up with a collection of ceramics we've picked up during our travels. We also have a few gems from local ceramic artists — #supportlocal. These handcrafted beauties aren't just functional — they’re also reminders of cherished moments and places we love.
  • Our galley kitchen is equipped with a Hitachi fridge and Bertazonni appliances — oven, hood, and stove. A special shoutout to the oven — we've been loving its keep-warm function! It reheats overnight bakes or leftovers perfectly without overcooking them.
  • Something's sizzling! One of the first few meals we've whipped up in our kitchen — honey soy garlic chicken thighs. So good! Also, these trusty tongs in a beautiful miso colour is a kitchen favourite, making cooking even more enjoyable.
  • Quick breakfast essentials — pancakes topped with a slab of butter and a side of vanilla bean Greek yogurt. Sometimes, it's the simple pleasures that make mornings better.
  • Woohoo! This little plate, now a sponge dish, is a treasured find from one of our trips to Japan — it should be apparent by now that we love collecting momentos from our travels! Also, a nod to the sleek gunmetal tap — it resists watermarks and adds a modern edge while being incredibly practical.
  • Last but certainly not least, here's another kitchen appliance which is a game changer — our built-in dishwasher. Cleaning up after meals is such a breeze now, especially when we have guests over. As such, we do not require a dish drying rack which saves up space. We have so much to share but that's all for now!
