Welcome to our living room! In this post, we will share how we transformed our living space into a modern luxe oasis that did not require built-ins or elaborate renovations. For the living room, we used the art of pairing furniture that speaks luxury, sophistication and comfort.
1. Start with a statement piece This sofa from Castlery was the first purchase for the house. It was love at first sight for me and is really comfortable to sit. The sofa anchors the room and sets the tone for the entire space. 2. Keep it cohesive To ensure that every piece of furniture and decor (curtains, wall pieces, cushions etc) complements each other, we stick to a consistent color palette (light grey, dark grey, black with gold embellishments) and matched the wall colours accordingly. We love how simplicity can be infused with an elevated touch to achieve our modern luxe feels that we were going for.
3. Mix textures and materials We certainly love how this tv console elevated the look of our living room. Love how the marbled, polished surface of the console together with its gold embellishments create a contrast that enhances the luxurious feel of the room. 4. Incorporating smart tech devices to enhance comfort, convenience and style Mister E used smart lighting systems like the Philips Hue LED strip and pasted it under the console. We love how this allows us to control the ambiance, colour of our living room with just our voice or iphones. This certainly sets the perfect lighting for any occasion, from a cozy movie night to a lively gathering, all while maintaining the sleek aesthetics of the space. Besides the Philips hue light strip, Mister E also integrated the Apple Homepods to elevate the living room. For Mister E, he loves how the HomePod integrates seamlessly with our existing devices. From streaming music directly from our iPhones to adjusting the volume of our TV, the HomePod enhances the luxury experience by making our tech feel more interconnected and easy to use. As for me, I love how the compact, elegant design fits seamlessly into our dark modern luxe living room. With its sleek mesh exterior and minimalist form, it adds a touch of modern sophistication without overpowering the decor. More importantly, I love how this hides all the wires too! Haha talk about priorities!
5. Adding personal touches We added unique decor items like decorative books and special items like this lovely vase of flowers that Mister E gave, to personalise this space while keeping it effortlessly chic.
6. Play with proportions We hoped to achieve a curated look by balancing our large, bold furniture with delicate, intricate pieces. We love how our statement sofa pairs beautifully with our golden coffee tables and wall paintings that we've gotten from Shopee.
7. Layer with luxe accents To enhance the luxe accents, we added in a carpet from Loom and Stone. This layering adds depth and warmth, making the space feel inviting and plush.
We love how functional this napkin cum remote control storage case is. The grey stool below serves as an additional chair for guests and is also a storage box to house our miscellaneous items.
In conclusion, our modern luxe living room is a harmonious blend of elegance, comfort and innovation, where every detail is meticulously curated to create an inviting and sophisticated space. The careful pairing of furniture plays a pivotal role in achieving this balance, with each piece selected to complement the others, enhancing both style and functionality.
