  • Hello there, welcome to our abode. We received the keys to our resale unit around end April 2023, and renovations took approximately 3 months. We didn't engage an ID, partly because we already had a general direction that we wanted the house to head towards. We knew we wanted a bright and airy space, with mostly neutral tones being the foundation of our mood board.
  • The original owner had a big shelf protruding parallel to the door, perhaps due to feng shui or privacy concerns. But since we will mostly keep our doors closed anyway, we decided to hack the cabinet and have the shoe cabinet be built along the wall perpendicularly, keeping our entryway wide and open, hiding our DB box all at the same time. We also created a small nook at the bottom of our shoe cabinet for shoes we wear on daily basis. It has a motion sensor light which turns on at night, so when we return home in the dark we can see where our shoes goes. Finally that full length mirror right beside the door became a great outfit check and mirror selfie zone for us.
  • We wanted a really long and low TV console so we can have our DIY limewash wall to be the main focus of this space, but also giving us a lot of space for displays and decor items to be placed along the console. Plus point: we don't need to maintain or clean the floor beneath the console.
  • One of our favourite thing in the house was this huge island we decided to built in. With the layout of our house, and our kitchen was quite small. We knew it was going to be a challenge to difficult to create an open kitchen which flows into the living space.
  • We decided to position the island in this way so it creates a spot where we can host but also allows sufficient space for movement around the area.
  • This dry pantry space (aka coffee bar) was a dream come true for Cin's inner barista. Morning coffee rituals has never been taken more seriously.
  • There really was not much space in our kitchen, so we kept things simple with having minimal countertop appliances and got an induction hood to allow for more countertop space. To create a visual impression of a brighter kitchen we chose light colored laminates and only used dark laminates for anything carpentries below the waistline.
  • We kept our service yard very bare, but by including this carpentry around our washing machine, we were able to create a folding/ laundry sorting tabletop as well as a side cabinet to hide all the bottles of detergents, keeping this space clutter free.
  • When we were planning the house, we knew our lifestyles required us to have a space where the wardrobe has to be separated from the sleeping area, due to our different schedules. We combined both master bedroom and bedroom 2 into one big room, by hacking down the wall in between the rooms and sealing up the original bedroom 2 door. Transforming the original master bedroom into a walk in wardrobe and study space, along with the master toilet. The idea was that the person preparing for their day would not disturb the other person who may still be asleep.
  • After hacking down the walls between both bedrooms, we installed a glass sliding panel to keep the sleep zone apart from the rest of the room. Reeded glass adding just a touch of privacy.
  • The master bedroom was the only room in the house that we installed curtains instead of blinds. Curtains tends to bring a softer and more lush vibe to the space.
  • Guest bathroom was revamped with minimal hacking, we kept the original HDB toilet wall tiles but overlayed the floor tiles. We focused on using accent lights to transform the space.
  • We love adding scented elements all around the house.
  • The guest bedroom is mostly left empty at the moment. Since we get quite a decent amount of natural light here. We mainly use it as a home workout, yoga, pilates space.
  • We have moved in to this place for about 5 weeks now. In the midst of preparing for our wedding we were quite glad we managed to create a space for the 2 of us to begin our life in.
