  • Coming back to our safe sanctuary after a long day is one of the best feelings in the world.. 🍃 In our dual-key apartment, the entryway/foyer is a small common area with 2 main doors that open up to 2 living spaces. Even though our cube-sized entryway is tiny, we styled the area in a simple and functional way, with little touches of warmth and coziness as an “invitation” to us whenever we come home.
  • With only a corner to place a piece of furniture, we decided on a simple closed shoe rack. A small shoe rack has kept our footwear collection essential and intentional over the years. This shoe rack also serves as a table for us to place our keys for easy access and do up a little entryway table styling.
  • A small table styling with a message, a floral vase, a ceramic scent diffuser makes a big difference in a tiny and limited entryway! ✨
  • As this corner has low light, we use faux flowers decor to frame this area. Autumn is 👵🏻 G’s favourite season, so a maple leave branch is perfect here! 🍁
  • This is another POV from our entrance - the door to our bedroom. With the low lighting here, we placed a sensor lamp on the wall so it lights up the area whenever we walk by.
  • This is how small tour entryway/foyer is! 🫢 To keep it clutter-free, we kept to one furniture and made use of the vertical space.
  • For some privacy to our bedroom from the main door, we DIY-ed a screen with a tension curtain road, scrap curtain fabric (cut from our altered curtain in the living room) and a handmade katazome textile.
  • 👴🏻 J made this katazome textile at a workshop in Chiangmai. “心静” / “Peace” - a perfect reminder for the entrance of the bedroom, a place of rest.
  • Our storeroom is at the entryway area. It was painted in glossy cream colour initially, which was an eyesore 😅 so we DIY-ed the outer door with a woodgrain door sticker that changed the entire look of this area. Sometimes, a small change makes a big difference! 🥹 It’s starting to peel at the edges after a few years so we may DIY another sticker soon (the never ending home improvement hehe). With the limited space, we made use of the storeroom’s magnetic door with hooks to hang our recycled bags and a magnetic pouch to store letters.
  • Thank you for appreciating our simple entryway that serves its purpose of having the essential items we need before heading out and a cosy “invitation” when we come home from the outside world! 😌
