  • Hello everyone, welcome back to our third post, this time about our bedroom! :) We've kept the design simple and clean, favoring dark and muted tones. We wanted a room that exudes comfort, a sanctuary where we can unwind and rest completely. Thus, we chose Nippon's Iced Gin paint (a white base with light/apple green) for the walls, which perfectly complements our Sage-colored bedsheet set from Bedtribe, a popular choice right now. Our king-sized bed, bedframe, pillows, and pillow covers are all from Sealy, a brand we highly recommend for those seeking a supportive mattress for back care. Having a storage bed is incredibly helpful, providing extra space in addition to our storeroom. We use it to store luggage, boxes, and other items that we don't use frequently.
  • Since we chose a king-sized bed, we had to give up the makeup/dressing table. However, we still wanted bedside storage for items like a tissue box, aircon remote, and a phone-charging area. So, we customized two lightweight and functional mini storage cupboards from Taobao. These are easy to move for floor vacuuming and provide enough space on both sides of the bed for walking.
  • This is the entrance to our bedroom, where we have a large L-shaped cupboard that matches the laminate of our kitchen cabinets. The cupboard provides ample storage for our clothes and was customized with our interior designer to accommodate long dresses, blouses, and shirts/tops. The only drawback is that black laminates show fingerprints prominently, requiring frequent cleaning. We love our glass door because it resembles those in hotels, adding a unique vibe compared to typical HDB wooden doors. The glass door can swing in both directions to access the toilet, making it both easy to clean and functional. We also installed smart light switches throughout the entire house, allowing us to control the lights via an app.
  • In the corner of our cupboard, we added a switch for phone charging, which has proven to be essential. We highly recommend new homeowners to plan their electrical points in detail with their interior designer or electrician.
  • Here's another angle showing the entrance to our bedroom. I'm really in love with our glass door! For removal of aircon smell, check out our IG @2chocolatecaramel to see the product we used and the process!
  • Thanks to the HDB structural wall, we were able to install a Xiaomi smart TV in our room instead of using a projector, as our bedframe doesn’t have space for one. The switch for powering the TV is located at the back and serves as an additional electrical point. Lastly, throughout our entire house, our curtains are from Secret Furnishing. We chose dark grey night curtains, which are excellent at blocking out sunlight and heat. A tip for homeowners: you don’t need to invest in full blackout curtains, which can be $100-$200 more expensive per room. Opt for darker-colored curtains instead, and you'll achieve a similar blackout effect. Thanks for reading through! We’re happy to answer any questions from homeowners, so feel free to share your feedback and leave a comment below. Don’t forget to visit our IG @2chocolatecaramel!
