  • Hey there 👋🏻 Welcome back to our humble home. Today we're talking about our plant folks and how we spruce up our living quarters with our green friends. To start off, yes all our plants are alive! And we do not have any fur babies or (human) babies so plants were an ideal choice for us at this time. Keeping plants is a form of therapy for us, seeing their growth and changes has become a routine for us whenever we wake up or come home from work.
  • When we initially moved in, we rotated our plants around constantly to try and find the right spot for all of them, especially since some plants require more light than others, it was important to find the optimal lighting so they don't wither or get too toasty.
  • Recently, we realised our plant collection... grew 🤫. Therefore, in an effort to organise our plants, we installed a rack right above our windows so our crawlers can receive some sunlight filtering through our blinds.
  • Not only do they look stunning, but hanging our plants provides us more floor space and keeps our fragile plant pots off the ground. Plus, we are very proud of our crochet plant holders that add that little personal touch to our area.
  • Our plants aren't the only ones looking cute, we got self-watering globes that help us keep our friends hydrated during our busy weeks. These also come in handy when we go overseas for long periods of time and helps them last without watering for a good week.
  • Unfortunately, having plants are not without challenges, especially since we live in a newer estate where the land has not settled, lots of pests infiltrate our homes making our plants vulnerable. Through these setbacks do we learn how to properly care and maintain our plant babies.
  • Mess is also part and parcel to owning lots of (alive) plants. Doing repotting indoors is challenge, but made easier through our trusty gardening mat which enables us to do it in the comfort of our living room.
  • In conclusion, we don't regret getting live plants, let alone growing our collection to over 15 pots! As first time plant owners, it was a rewarding and challenging experience and we'll definitely be adding more green friends to our collection soon. See you in our next post! ~Nay & ZQ
