  • Hello new friends! We’re a couple with a little dorkie (our daushund mix terrier - for those wondering who's the dork 🤪) in this 3rm BTO flat. It's been half a year and we're slowly filling our home with life and some colours - For now, our home is drowned in muted tones with clean black additions and organic touches. Our top priority when creating our home was to have it to be a calm space to come back to from a busy day at work. Here's what greets you just as you come in, a simple niche that holds just things we need when we go out.
  • When we first came into the home after collecting our keys, it was an immediate acknowledgement that some walls had to go. A calm space, to us, definitely wasn’t one that made us feel claustrophobic or cluttered, so knocking down the walls to the common room was the one way we could achieve what we wanted. This also allowed us to have guests over more often, which we enjoy!
  • This was probably the most stressful part of our reno journey - we wanted to make sure everything mAtCHeD 😮‍💨 Here's a tip I found useful: as long as you find one material or colour you really love, bring it along with you whenever you go shopping for more house materials! For us it was the vinyl flooring first, so yes, we brought the sample everywhere!
  • This one was definitely a splurge, but one that was worth it to us 🤭 We searched for the perfect full length mirror for so long, with questions like - isit too big? Too small? Does it make us look funny? Does it look special enough to make a statement? Will it come broken if we got it from TB? We needed it to be perfect for the space here and we wanted it to be a statement piece yet served it’s function well. This ticked all the boxes, so 6 months in, we’re still happy owners of this mirror that greets us going out and coming home 😍
  • Just a sneak peek into our somewhat smart-home mainly from Aqara. We'll share more about it next time, for now let's just say we never have to fight over switching off the lights outside when we're in bed 🤪
  • This is hands down the one place we spend the most time in. We made a conscious decision to save on carpentry during the renovation so we could splurge on our furniture, and we’re proud to say that that was one of the best decisions we made. Let’s just say that every guest that comes over finds it tough to peel themselves off our sofa when it’s time to go home 😂 I was honestly afraid that our 65” inch TV would be too small for a 3 rm flat, but I’m I was proven wrong. My husband was very invested in having a cinematic experience when we watch shows so he had surround sound and everything in mind during the renovations. We’ll share more about this next time!
  • Showing you guys just half of our kitchen for now - also the only part that required us to shop for tiles, so we went with the ones that we absolutely loved even though it was a little pricier (we only needed 5 pcs hahaha)
  • This space is still a work in progress as we’re still on a hunt for a painting and sideboard to beautify empty wall, so we’ve got a shelf from Carousell for now as a temporary measure for an acceptable look hahaha. But big shout out to my favourite piece of furniture in the house - our customised full-travertine dining table! Get this, it’s from a local factory where we got to choose the travertine slab, measured to what we needed, and it’s way cheaper than getting this from retail. My only (sort of) regret is that it’s heavy as hell so moving furniture around is not really an option for my itchy hands.
  • One thing we were thankful for was the acceptable bathroom tiles that honestly wasn't all that bad once we dressed it up a little. It saved us so much money (and embarrassment) 😮‍💨 Although, one thing we would've changed was the HDB white throne. We find it so uncomfortable and hard to clean... eeeep!
  • Ah, our cozy bedroom that's meant for nothing else but sweet sweet sleep. That might change over the years, but for now, this room has become a cave for us to retreat into after a day's worth of happenings.
  • Nothing fancy, just some of our bedside necessities and a book I've been enjoying.
