  • Hello and welcome to our kitchen! There are several different layouts of maisonettes in Singapore and ours is the one with the service yard/balcony attached to it. We decided to seal up the original entrance to the kitchen for more counter space, and the entrance to the kitchen is through the living room! Living room -> Dining room -> Kitchen
  • Upon stepping into the kitchen, the first thing you will see is our water dispenser. Having owned several counter top dispensers at our previous place, we fell in love with how space saving the Wells The One water dispenser is, and we bought it without thinking much. Our ID helped to design a storage cabinet for the filter system just below the dispenser. And 3 large drawers for us to place our cups, drinks and cooking preparation equipments.
  • Futher into the kitchen, this is the area where the entrance to the kitchen originally was. We placed our fridge, oven and microwave here! We also have a Nespresso machine and Kuvings Juicer placed here. To be honest, I'm still trying to figure out what to place in the cabinets and drawers. Its still a mess behind those doors!
  • We seldom cook but we wanted the basic equipment for cooking. Since we have direct gas supply, we decided to opt for a stove instead of an induction cooker. The traditional way of cooking with fire somehow gives more satisfaction .
  • Our ID suggested to use sintered stone for our counter top and backing and it was one of the best suggestion from her. It looked amazing and definitely easy to maintain! I would suggest paying a little more and opt for sintered stone for your new home.
  • Although our sink appears to be out of place and inconvenient, it really depends on what you want for the kitchen 'workflow'. It works perfectly for us because our kitchen is mostly for breakfast, snacks and drinks. On the left is actually our "bar counter" where we keep all the cups and drinks in the drawers below. And the sink is conveniently next right to it. And if you drink too much, the bathroom is just there ;)
  • In my opinion, the fan is the most essential appliance for the kitchen. Without this fan, I think we would have collapsed on the few occasions when we are cooking. So, please get a small corner fan for your kitchen! You wont regret it! If you are wondering if the fan is also used to get rid of the aroma when we are cooking, and how the aroma is going to exit, follow us for our future posts and you will find out! Hope you love our kitchen as much as we do!
