  • Welcome to the tofus' dining room! This is where the tofus eat daily - and also where they celebrate special occasions!
  • If you've read the tofus' housewarming posts, you may know that this area was never supposed to exist! The previous owners had a makeshift one in the living room, which made it look very cramped, hence the tofus decided to hack away the kitchen wall and make it an open kitchen, and also hack back the adjourning wall to create space for what is now the dining area.
  • Another angle of the dining area! The tofus have kept it simple with just the table, 4 chairs, and a pendant light. They've kept everything in a similar colour scheme and wood texture, highlighting the Scandinavian theme which creates a sense of warmth and cosiness. The rattan chairs were an interesting & intentional choice as Tofu V really liked the look of it even though it was not strictly Scandi - it did help to add some laidback vibes and soften a potentially rigid-looking dining area!
  • One of the first items that the tofus added to the dining room was this tri-coloured light! They fell in love with this design when they saw it in a local shop but found it too expensive, but found this cheaper version on Taobao! The tofus like to change up the colours to create different dining moods - in the day they usually use the whiter light, whereas they tend to use the warmer yellow light in the evening & night. You can also see that they added a powerpoint here - this was originally meant for appliances like coffee machine, but they ended up using it for the Dyson fan because it gets hot sometimes haha.
  • The tofus haven't added much decor to the dining table yet, partly because they want to keep it as clean and decluttered as possible, but they have been adding some fresh blooms now & then as a nice touch to the dining atmosphere. Both blooms and vase are from Far East Flora!
  • Some other knickknacks that have been taking up a spot on the tofus' dining table include these pieces that they picked up in JB! The glass canister is meant to serve water but has vase potential, and the red teak candle has a subtle, woody fragrance that creates a relaxed mood.
  • The tofus moved in slightly before Christmas and managed to celebrate it in time! They managed to get together some basic dining & cookware at that point in time, but have since expanded their collection (a little!) and may share more when they introduce their kitchen!
