  • If you haven't read my house tour post, do read it before coming to my in depth post of our dining room! I hacked the kitchen HDB floor tiles and used the same tiles all the way from my living room to the kitchen, creating a seamless space to accommodate my customised 1.8m teak dining table and chairs. We hosts a lot so it made sense for me to forego any island to have a big dining table instead. We did not hack the kitchen wall tiles but they are hidden behind the plastering of the entire wall to flush it all the way in, and we diy the limewash paint of the dining wall ourselves with mocha silk colour from Raffles Paint.
  • This is a close up shot of my table! My husband is really into wood, and he wants to keep the live edges of the wood for our dining table to keep it natural.
  • Love the curved edges that we specifically asked for, they sanded it round for us. Also the table legs can be customised. Instead of black metal legs, I asked for wooden legs to match the entire aesthetics.
  • We got a bench and this bench can sit up to 1 adult + 3 kids or 3 adults! It is an absolute stunner with the fluted side as well! Love the bench at first sight and ordered it immediately together with our dining set. You can see my living room from here, the partition wall and the arched entryway into the foyer.
  • Compared to my previous post, there are 2 updates to these wooden ledges / open shelvings. We moved the figurine showcase box from my parents' place over and we got a new betta fish and a small fish tank! Notice the little bamboo shoot / plant on the top right corner? We added this one here and I thought nothing else I can say about it except that it's a perfect fit, it's growing really well with sunlight from the 3rd and last bedroom and then the baby bamboo shoot is becoming a little forest. I forgot the name of this plant, but I got it from World Farm in Jurong East! if you haven't realise by now that i'm a harry potter fan because of the paintings, spot the harry potter figurines amidst the others! :) We collect these for fun! Still awaiting for my son's shelvings to arrive so the toys are here for now.. I keep some cookbooks here for easy access.
  • We got these cute peranakan cup coasters from Table Matters and they look really good against our teak wood table.
  • My betta fish gets a little showcase here, it has pretty tail colours! Hi Neon! Watching it swim while eating can be calming at times.
