  • Step into our homely four-room HDB resale flat! Nestled within 93 square feet of stylishly curated space, our home is greatly inspired by the mid-century theme. Here’s our floor plan! We didn’t hack anything therefore, the layout remains the same.
  • In selecting warm tiles and laminates to complement the home’s aesthetic and create a welcoming, cozy ambiance, we focused on a few key principles: 1. Color Palette: Warm tiles often come in earthy tones like brown or warm greys. These hues resonate well with the mid-century theme, adding depth and richness to the space. We made sure that the tile colors harmonized with the existing color scheme, enhancing the overall warmth of the rooms. 2. Texture and Finish: Tiles with slightly textured finish tend to exude a more natural, cozy vibe. They offer a tactile experience and add a touch of authenticity to the mid-century aesthetic. This choice aimed to infuse a sense of comfort and visual appeal, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. 3. Consistency and Flow: Consistency in laminates selection across different areas like the living room, kitchen, and bedrooms helped create a sense of continuity, allowing the warm ambiance to flow seamlessly throughout the house. It promoted a cohesive look, amplifying the overall feeling of comfort and coziness. 4. Size and Pattern: We considered simple size of the tiles to complement the mid-century theme. Opting for tiles with a pattern that echoed the era’s design ethos, such as geometric shapes or subtle patterns, added an extra layer of visual interest while staying true to our home’s aesthetic. Ultimately, the choice we had was a meticulous process that aimed to enhance the home’s welcoming atmosphere and infuse it with a cozy, inviting feel that resonates with the mid-century theme.
  • Our house overlooked both the expressway and nature's tranquil embrace. This duality allows us to savor the best of both worlds—a tranquil retreat immersed in nature's tranquility and the bustling sounds from the expressway.
  • Upon entering the house, our initial encounter is with the dining area strategically positioned at the center, intentionally disrupting the layout. This deliberate placement aims to create a unique contrast throughout the space. Additionally, our selection of warm furniture further amplifies a sense of warmth and coziness within the setting.
  • Upon acquiring this house, our aim was to craft a space that resonated with our passions rather than following a predefined concept. We sought to assemble elements that reflected our interests, piecing together a home that felt deeply personal. The breathtaking, unobstructed view was one of the initial features that captivated us about this space. Natural light streaming in and framing our surroundings became an integral part of our daily experience at home. Our walls proudly showcase a gallery of prints sourced from various corners of the globe, collected from art galleries or even discovered during our travels. Some of these pieces were crafted by me (F) or talented artists we encountered on the streets. We found that this collection not only adds character but also sparks engaging conversations among ourselves and our guests. Incorporating a classic leather sofa was a deliberate choice, as it not only introduces texture and depth but also complements the play of light as it gently caresses its surface. Moreover, its ease of maintenance is a practical advantage for us, both being working adults. Our intention was to infuse the interior elements with narratives and character that weave into the story of our home. We believed that timeless colors and textures contribute to a sense of tranquility while enhancing the overall comfort and inviting atmosphere of our dwelling.
  • The entrance to our room features a minimalist design, where the toilet door is seamlessly and neatly integrated against the wall, creating a smooth and unobtrusive appearance.
  • Our guest toilet boasts an ambiance elevated by warm brown tiles and soft lighting to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
  • In our master toilet, we've opted for darker grey tiles to evoke a hotel-like ambiance, transforming it into a cozy and welcoming space, especially after a long day.
