  • Hello, we're @alilbto! :) Today, we'll be sharing more about our entryway, and show you how much our final entryway differs from our 3D renderings! What you see in this cover image is our IDs' 3D rendering of how we initially envisioned our entryway to look like.
  • These were some of the pictures we shared with our IDs in our moodboard. These were some of the initial criteria we shared with our IDs: 1. We wanted to utilise the storage space within the DB box to store shoes and other stuff 2. We wanted some kind of divider to separate our entryway from the rest of our house but: a. the partition should not make the entryway area dark i.e. no full-height carpentry because it would block light coming in from our living room windows b. airflow from main door should not be blocked too i.e. the divider must have holes to allow air to flow past it 3. We also wanted a seat so we could wear shoes comfortably Side note: we are unfortunately unable to credit the respective ID firms/homeowners whose homes are being featured in today's post as we had no intentions to post our moodboard references online when we were creating our moodboard and we have lost the links to these images - pls DM us if you'd like us to credit you and we'd be happy to link the reference image back to you!
  • & this is how our entryway looks like post-reno! It's very clean, simple and minimalist in nature. Here are some of the biggest differences: 1. No dividers facing our main door - after getting our keys, we realised that our neighbours could only see a certain section of our unit when they passed by and wouldn't be able to look into our entire living room unless they stood almost directly in front of our main door. As the main purpose of getting the dividers were to prevent neighbours from constantly peeping in, we felt we could forgo this during our reno, and get loose dividers in the future if really necessary. 2. Since we were not building dividers, we felt there was no need to extend our DB box carpentry that far out. Hence, the carpentry enclosing our DB box is much smaller post-reno vs the initial 3D rendering. We've instead, utilised the space beside our DB box carpentry to place our main trash bin and recycling bin! 3. Instead of a wood-based laminate, we ended up opting for this microcement laminate that would complement the colour of our vinyl flooring. The bins and door wrap were a later edition but we're so glad the all match each other in terms of colour scheme! We shared more about our entryway and the bins we purchased in earlier posts! Do check that out if you're keen to find out more! :)
