  • Welcome to our mini entryway, the first impression of our home that greets our guests. We designed this simple space with both aesthetics and functionality in mind.
  • The centerpiece of this area is a full-height partition, crafted to create a sense of privacy without compromising the spaciousness of the entryway. After several iterations during the design phase, we finalized this particular design based on a few key considerations.
  • We wanted a partition that provides a sense of seclusion as you enter, yet doesn’t feel overwhelming. To achieve this, we opted for an arch cutout design with curved carpentry.
  • The arch serves as a niche that nicely frames flower arrangement vases, which are frequently changed to keep the space fresh and vibrant.
  • With our entrance facing north, we are fortunate to enjoy a refreshing flow of wind throughout the day. Our partition allows light and air to pass through easily, ensuring that the foyer remains bright and well-ventilated.
  • Beyond aesthetics, we wanted the partition to serve a practical purpose. The backside of the partition features storage space, which helps keep the front of the partition clean and uncluttered.
  • The curved dining settee is also where we sit and put on our shoes before heading out.
  • Inside the settee, we've organized daily essentials like socks. The hidden storage compartment is neatly divided into sections, making it easy to keep everything in order and within reach. There’s still extra space in the settee beyond just socks but we haven’t decided how to use it yet. If you have any storage ideas, we’d love to hear them!
