  • Welcome back to another week of exploring our home. While I would love to do a before-and-after of our entryway area, I realised the entryway was a place that we 1. did not give its due considerations 2. was not a priority for us For the first few weeks, we lived without anything at this area. We had no shoe cabinet. Our shoes were just sprawled on the floor. Until our taobao shoe cabinet arrived and saved us from the mess!
  • I don't have an actual photo of how our entryway really looked like previously, so this was one that I found from when the seller's property agent was advertising this unit. They had a built-in shoe cabinet and niche, but we wanted to change the whole set-up so we hacked everything away instead.
  • Here's a peek inside our shoe cabinet! B has more shoes than I do, or at least they take up more space because of his wider feet, so I take up 1 out of the 3 doors of this cabinet. This place also gets us massive natural light into the house, and it's my favourite during sunset because the rays shine so beautifully into our home!
  • This photo means A LOT to us. B took it on our honeymoon while we were in Geiranger, Norway; and it was one of the most breathtaking places we've seen. We travelled long and far, and I drove 3 hours to get to this beautiful, scenic place. I visited Shanghai 4 months ago and printed some nice pictures out with better quality paper at a fraction of the price as I would have in SG, got it all framed up, and VOILA! The Chinese phrase at the back in literal direct translation in the most broken English way would be "day day is good day". But it reminds us that whatever happens, every day is a good day.
  • Here's a seashell tray (gifted by my ex-colleague) that holds all our keys, and an awfully chocolate creme brulee mini casserole (gifted by B's friend) that holds our random stash of coins.
  • We haven't quite found a purpose or a spot for this Aesop rinse-free hand wash/sanitiser that was gifted by my previous company. So it has found it's somewhat home here where B sometimes puts on some so his hands smell nice before he leaves home. And one of my many penguin toys.
  • Featuring our collection of rubberduckies collected from drinking tea in China, and 2 Japanese dolls gifted by my friend. I love how this entryway has given us the space to grow our collection of knick-knacks, and transform this house into what we can call "home". (Psst. Stay close for our next post! You wouldn't want to miss it. It's related to 11/11 sales!!)
