I have posted my entryway before during Season 6. However, after 6 months of living in and returning as a Season 8 ambassador, my entryway looks like this now! If you want to see the before: here it is! https://www.hipvan.com/ideas/posts/an-entrance-to-an-enchanting-home-sets-tone-for-guests-enqbqcmgwfdj We added a new grass carpet which is very soft to stand on! After guests took off their shoes, they step on this before they enter the house as it covered the entire area of the entrance. I love the feel of it on my feet as I step in and out daily. Due to the space constraint of a 4-room BTO, we are sooo glad that we can fit a shoerack outside our unit! our tiny mini garden in front of our doorstep.. and then the long corridor that leads to our neighbour houses. Another shoerack in the foyer to accommodate the growing family! 1 more member means few more pairs of tiny shoes and socks! Still got plenty of space to accommodate for the future! The shoerack puts the shoes inside slanted downwards, only 18cm in width since you don't have to put the shoes flatly and able to fit quite a lot of shoes! The width is perfect and does not block the entrance and the wooden gate much! I decided against carpentry in the foyer area because I don't want it to look really small. I have a partition wall already built and more carpentry will make the foyer look cramped. I decided to put these pegboards from Taobao instead! They are flexible and adjustable, you can put any decorations up to your own heart's contentment. I put my daily 'go-out' slingbags, my baby carrier and umbrellas and also tote bags for groceries shopping. Even the mails for the family are placed here. Super useful! I love that this space segregated a foyer area and I can also put my baby's stroller and bike (gift from family) here! I think it's super unique and cost saving!! The stool spot on the left is for someone to sit and put on their shoes. That 'stool' can actually be separated into 4 stools when I'm hosting if I don't have enough seats for guests! This is how it looks like from the dining area! We pasted some magnetic photo frames and some magnets on the bomb shelter but they are moved to the kitchen's fridge for now. We actually used a different tile here, so this part can still be grey and 'dirty' and then a soft floor mat that leads to the dining room which has white colour tilings that is the same as the living room. The shoe rack does not block the wooden door much! :) I can also put extra decors on the shoerack inside to welcome guests when I'm hosting a party etc! Instead of hiding my db box, it is now a mirror for when checking ourselves out before heading out~ fully functional! Currently, I do not lack space to put all our shoes as I already have two shoe racks. This space is empty for now, with just my ukulele which I can move to the storeroom..
