  • Hi and welcome to our humble abode :) We decided on a minimalist entryway with a little character by selecting a textured laminate. The characteristics of our entryway are bomb shelter concealment, cabinet niche, shoe cabinet and a settee. Although you will be greeted by a glorious view of our living room, the sofa and dining area are hidden from public to give the family privacy. It’s also distraction to see the common corridor while we are having family time. So this is the main reason for our layout!
  • The niche - for display and quick access to items. We don’t need trinkets as we don’t have physical keys. Digital lock for the win!
  • Nearer to the main door, you will find a small curved floating settee that houses a drawer (for socks). 3 months after moving in, we realised we use this settee a lot for parcels instead 🙈 it’s a multifunctional settee! We also wanted a suspended settee so that we can have bedroom slippers accessed from the main door! However, as you can tell… 🫢
  • This curve is specially designed by our ID, as we decided on a 35-40cm carpentry depth to conceal the bomb shelter, and also wanted to keep the small main door section accessible. Hence, our ID suggested we do a curve in and it’s so pretty and functional! (No, we didn’t pay extra for this!)
  • A tic tac door to conceal the bomb shelter. There is sufficient space between the tic door and bomb shelter door, thus we kept our portable fan here. We are also looking to spice up this area to have magnetic hooks on the bomb shelter door for items like caps and raincoats! We wanted to have some shoe shelves behind this door but our ID highly don’t recommend as the door might sag with sufficient weight overtime. We definitely recommend concealing your bomb shelter if budget allows, as it acts as an aesthetics upgrade and storage as well!
  • On the left of the tic tac door we have an upper cabinet as storage for items like shopping totes, facial masks, shoe bags and more.
  • Below the display niche is our shoe cabinet which houses about 20-25 pairs of shoes. We kept some boots and not often worn shoes in the DB box instead.
  • Child-friendly shoe cabinet fabricated by our ID - appropriate height around 1-metre, soft closing Blum hinges and recessed handles for a sleek look.
  • Our LED-lit niche. We hope you enjoyed our sharing on our entryway! We are opened to questions as usual! :)
