  • Welcome to our home! This is a snapshot of our entryway. As you can see, it's nestled between our fridge and dry pantry, and my full length shoe cabinet. We deliberately made sure the shoe cabinet (on the right) was right next to the door, because we don't like keeping our shoes outdoors. But at the same time, wanted to keep it accessible for right before we enter/exit our home. This facilitates really easy returning of shoes, and prevents us from having a cluttered home or the dirt of bringing our shoes in.
  • As you can see, the materials in our home are extremely consistent with each other. We have rattan on the ceiling, and a woven, porous and breathable rattan panel for the shoe cabinet. The laminate we used for the ceiling beam and cabinet doors are also consistent. The dark wood we used for the handles of our cabinet and main door are of a similar dark brown shade as well. To help homeowners out, I've tagged the laminate we used in here! The most important thing is keeping all colours and materials consistent, for a cohesive design through the house.
  • One design decision we chose that really elevated our entryway, is the choice of our door handle. While most people might opt for a digital door lock that doubles as a door handle, my husband insisted on this long wooden door handle that we often see in bigger homes. We love the vibes it brings, and really just makes our home feel extra special. For the digital door lock, we went with a digital door lock that syncs up with our door/gate lock, so our door opens and locks seamlessly depending on the door/gate being opened.
  • Our entryway is lit up by this statement light piece from Sol Luminaire. It's embedded into the beam and illuminates our very thoughtfully-designed front door!
  • Ta-da! This is one of my favourite renovation decisions. We decided to keep our shoes in this full length cabinet by our door. It allows us to pick our shoes right before we leave the house (so we don't keep even the nice ones in our bedroom), and when we get home, we immediately keep them back in. Because of the breathable rattan panels, our shoes also get to be 'air-d' out, and don't have any smell! They're all in display for me to see immediately, and the storage is actually fantastic - there are 2 main cabinets, and each cabinet holds about 103 female pairs of shoes.
  • And that's all folks! This is the view of our home from our main entrance. Immediately, you can feel the warm vibes of our house.
