  • For most new BTOs, the layout does not come with an entryway. But with our new layout (hacked all the walls!), we were able to create one. And since we were able to create one, we YOLOed (you only live once) with the design. We wanted to give an impactful first impression to anyone coming into the home by paving a stone path -which is very rare in a HDB. We are not well versed with Feng Shui, but my mum was especially happy when we told her the new layout has an entryway. According to her, that's a good way to "capture fortune" and not let whatever fortune that come our way go straight out the window.
  • We also placed a full height mirror right by the door. It serves 2 purposes. 1. Check ourselves out before leaving the house 2. Illusion of a larger space And right beside the mirror is a set of doors that lead into the...BOMB SHELTER! I love how my ID has concealed the bomb shelter. Most of my guests thought it was just shoe storage.
  • And when you walk into the house, this view is what you will see. A solid wood shoe cabinet, which i am very much in love with, from Taobao. What amazed me was that it came fully built and weighed 100kg. Howeverr, the shoe cabinet does feel very sturdy and even has a white marble design sintered stone top. We then decorated the area with little items we got from tabao and a huge 3D painting that resembles the the beach, but in the colour theme of our home.
  • Here's a close up of the dried flowers and gold jewellery case (which we have no idea what to use it for). The jewellery case was actually used as deco from our wedding, and because it the colour suited the space well, I left it at the entryway as deco. Perhaps it can be used to store the mailbox key or car keys?
