Farmhouse Dining Space in 4rm HDB in CBD fringe area

  • Welcome to our dining space! This is where most of our meals (duh), gatherings, birthday celebrations and even work (🤡) happen. TLDR; I personally spend most of the time at home here. 😌 We also keep the wall behind our dining room empty to allow for thematic changes e.g. Christmas, Birthdays and CNY.
  • As we live in a 4-room resale HDB, our dining area is essentially next to our living room. And really, it's the first thing you see when you enter our house, perfectly framed by our curved sitting nook. P.S. spot my work laptop and notebook when I was working here 💻 (I'm also typing here now in real time haha)
  • Due to the space constraints, should we have bigger groups, our table could extend to 1.8m and have 10 people sitting around it. However, to make it work, we need space on both widths of the dining table. Enter the entryway curved nook! While facing the door, it's where we sit and wear our socks and shoes (although it's really not a habit tbh 😂). When facing the dining table, it sits 1-2 pax. Unpictured but pro tip: we also specially added a power socket behind our bench for hotpot days and charging of laptops and phones. It's easily concealed below the height of the bench :)
  • As we use vinyl flooring, we try to paste anti-scratch sticker patches (is that what they call it?) below our furnitures. But specifically for our dining chairs, we bought these cute little socks from Daiso! So cute and functional - love them.
