  • Warm mood lighting, sand-coloured travertine-inspired tiles, and the scents of our favourite bathroom products lingering in the air. Our common bathroom has been transformed into an inviting oasis of calm and relaxation. Our decision to place a bathtub in our common bathroom rather than our master bathroom was an unconventional one. However, we had thought through this carefully and felt it was the best arrangement that worked for us. As we typically shower before going to work, we dreaded the idea of having to climb in and out of a bathtub early in the morning (which could possibly be dangerous). We also knew that daily showers in the bathtub would only encourage soap scum to accumulate quickly. This meant that we would have to clean the tub daily and, worse, have to scrub the tub down before we get to enjoy a hot soak. Thus, shifting the bathtub to the common bathroom eliminated all of these problems.
  • Making space for a bathtub meant that the configuration of our common bathroom had to change. This was further complicated by the fact that we were unable to hack any of the original tiles or walls. In the early stages of searching for an ID, many immediately shot down the idea and told us it was just not feasible. But we persisted and, thankfully, found someone who listened and worked around the challenges to make our dreams happen!
  • Utilising large format tiles help to visually elongate the vertical space and allow us to fully appreciate the unique grains of the travertine pattern. The pale, neutral colour of the tiles also contribute to the soothing atmosphere of the bathroom. One of our favourite finds has definitely been our Hera bathtub! After a visit to the showroom, we realised that we could select a tub of a suitable length (e.g. 1.6m, 1.7m) for our bathroom. It can be further cut to size on site and sealed with silicone for a perfect fit.
  • Whether it's in the day or night, we always welcome some time with our rubber duckies!
