  • Welcome to the most exciting room in the tofu house: the gym!
  • This was originally a spare bedroom but the tofus converted it into a gym room! The tofus had always planned to build their very own gym – in fact, many decisions regarding flat selection and home renovation revolved around this space!
  • The main focus of the home gym was none other than the Bodyx MFORC All-in-1 Trainer. While the tofus could do with just dumbbells, they wanted to expand their workout options and all-in-1 trainer was perfect, especially as it took up less space than a conventional commercial gym and could fit nicely into a room.
  • The weight stack makes it easy to change up the weights as and when the tofus need. Their only gripe is that the stacks don’t quite stack together closely – not sure if it’s an issue with the pulley system – so it does get a little difficult to slot in the pin.
  • Tofu V especially works a lot on her pull-ups, so she really likes this! It also comes with a bouldering grip that’s interesting – the tofus are assuming this helps climbers who want to improve grip strength. The multi-grip Chin-Up and Pull-Up station comes with a huge 250kg weight rating and has an ultra-comfortable grip. This allows the tofus to perform wide-grip, close-grip, underhand, overhand and many other positions, which is great for targeting different parts of the back and shoulder muscles. The Bodyx MFORC All-in-1 Trainer also has an included strap attachment to help you work towards your chin-ups and pull-ups if you’re not able to do one yet!
  • Despite regular use (about 2-3 times per week), the tofus have not found any major problems so far with everything, including the trainer itself and the various attachments included. The rubber bumper plate set was an especially fantastic investment compared to traditional metal plates as they don’t rust easily and are much hardier.
  • Other than the all-in-1-trainer, the tofus have also furnished the gym room with other fitness equipment!
  • This bike was actually brought over from Tofu V's previous home. It was an investment she made during the COVID lockdown as it was difficult to workout outside... it still works perfectly well even after so many years!
  • The tofus also got these adjustable dumbbells from Taobao to supplement their all-in-1-trainer! Instead of buying multiple dumbbells of varying weights, it made more sense to buy adjustable ones that took up less space, especially as the room was not particularly big.
  • Last but not least, the core of the home gym: the gym mats! This is very important in a home gym as the equipment cannot go directly on the floor, partly as it damages the vinyl, and partly because of the noise from the clanking of the machine and weights. They were very lucky to have bought this at a much lower price from Taobao, as it does get quite expensive having to lay out the entire area of the room!
