  • It all started with an empty corner in our home, and like most homeowners, we weren't sure what to do with it at first. In this post, we share how we transformed that blank slate into one of our favourite spots. Whether you’re just starting your home decor journey or looking to refresh a corner of your home, we hope these ideas spark some inspiration! By adding a niche and wooden shelves, we've created a dedicated space to display our cherished items. Each piece holds special meaning, reminding us of our travels, milestones, and loved ones. This corner isn’t just decor — it’s a reflection of the moments and memories we’ve shared.
  • We also look for multifunctional decor pieces — they’re not only practical but also subtly elevate the space. This 3:16PM multi-spray does it all — hand sanitiser, yoga mat spray, surface cleaner, and room freshener, all wrapped in a warm, inviting fragrance of cardamom, amber, and sandalwood. Next to it, the HIN plate in stone white brings a touch of organic elegance, inspired by the ancient Hebrew word for jar, 'Hin.'
  • Pair your decor with books or objects that tell your story. It's a simple way to add layers of personality to any room. This handmade ceramic cup from Japan was a gift and sits atop a travel book by Kinfolk. The texture and craftsmanship of the cup bring a natural, earthy element to the space, while the travel book reminds us of the adventures to come.
  • Candles are both functional and aesthetic, and they can also be paired with your favourite books.
  • Does anyone else love portable lamps like we do? They add a soft, warm glow to the space and are incredibly versatile, as we can easily move them around the difference spaces in our home to switch up the ambience. We can't believe this is our final post on HipVan Ideas. It's been a pleasure sharing our home journey and connecting with fellow homeowners. Follow us on Instagram @aplaceofours to stay connected! Until next time!
