Hello! This is our really simple and no-frills coffee corner set-up ☕️

Our coffee capsules are stored in this gachapon machine, which we love because the coffee flavour of the day is always a surprise!
We are using the Nespresso Lattissima One but to be honest, we feel that for basic coffee drinkers like us, getting a more budget-friendly coffee machine such as the Nespresso Essenza Mini would suffice. By the way, did you know? According to Nespresso, it is recommended for descaling to be done after every 400 to 600 capsules or at least once a year (whichever comes first).  This eliminates the lime scale that builds up in the coffee machine over time, ensuring that your tasting experience is as perfect as the first day 👍🏻

For the longest time, a blinking descaling indicator light greeted us each time we turned on our coffee machine, so one day we finally decided to buy a descaling kit from Nespresso to descale our machine. One descaling kit comes with 2 packets of descaling solution, which is good for 2 descaling sessions. The entire descaling process took approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

Here’s a condensed version of the descaling process. Step 1: Empty the drip tray and the used capsules container. Step 2: Fill the water tank with water up to the indicated level for descaling. Step 3: Add 1 packet of descaling solution.
Step 4: Take the descaling pipe situated at the back of the machine and plug it into steam connector of machine. Step 5: Press the Espresso button. Descaling product flows alternately through the coffee outlet, descaling pipe and drip tray. Step 6: Fill the water tank with water once it runs empty and press the Espresso button again.
