  • Welcome to our home office which also serves as our entertainment room on weekends. We are planning to get a karaoke system for this room in future so that we can sing to our heart's content here! This room has zero built-ins and we only started purchasing each piece of furniture in this room after we moved in. We installed Shangri-La roller blinds for this room and I love how it looks, especially when the sunlight shines through the sheer shades, but when we need the room to be darker, we can adjust the position to the opaque blackout shades instead. We also have a bay window storage bench as you can see in the photo, so that we can lounge on the cushioned bench and also have extra storage space yay!
  • The peg board adds a fun element to the room, as we can place the decor, pegs, and planks in any way that we like, and additionally it's a very convenient place for me to hang the bags that I use often. This is also probably the most colourful area we have in the house because we wanted it to look bright and cheery, hoping that it will make our moods better when we work from home too hahaha.
  • Beside the pegboard, we then have this IKEA cabinet in a beautiful shade of beige. We are not done placing all our items in, but for now, I have one shelf filled with my books and albums :) My husband pasted the LED strips in the cabinet shelves, and it really changes up the entire look with the warm light illuminating the cabinet.
  • Above the cabinet, I placed my precious CD player and some decor items.
  • We lugged a TV home from a relative's place as we always love having some nostalgic and old school items around.
  • A juxtaposition here that we placed a modern projector above the TV haha.
  • Listening to music while working is a vibe for sure :) This wall was intentionally left blank as we planned for a projector for this room from the beginning.
  • We only have one table in the room as my husband usually works in office and I usually like to rotate between this table and the dining table depending on my mood :) This is a height adjustable desk, meaning I can stand and work if I am feeling too full from lunch. The lamp is also in the same shade of beige as the IKEA IDASEN beige series, and we love how it looks like it's from the same series.
  • We actually looked around at different height adjustable tables, but still went back for this IKEA IDASEN table because we truly love this shade of beige for the legs which then makes it a matching set with the cabinet. This was the one of the few tables we saw when looking around that did not have plain white/black legs. The IKEA table made cable management simple as they have a mesh pocket under the table meant for cables.
  • That's the end of our home office tour! We hope you enjoyed this post, you may find us at @aiyacanna on Instagram if you would like to ask us anything regarding the furniture we purchased. Have a great weekend!
