Hello I’m C from inthekohzwu. Here's featuring my 4-room resale home in the Northeast, thoughtfully designed with a Japandi theme. The first photo showcases the living room — a serene space that sets the tone for the rest of the home. Inspired by a desire to create calm, homey, and soothing vibes, every corner reflects a harmonious blend of minimalism and warmth. Floor plan of our 4RM resale — loved the layout from the start. The open kitchen was something I always wanted, and having hackable walls meant we could let even more natural light flow through the space. A peek into the living room — where calm and comfort come together. Soft neutrals, warm textures, and clean lines set the tone for our Japandi-inspired home. Entryway bench to place bags or even having a place to sit to wear our socks before leaving! The entryway opens up to a seamless flow of the dry and wet kitchen — anchored by a cozy peninsula with bar stools. This open-concept layout not only makes the space feel bigger, but also keeps the heart of the home light-filled and welcoming. The peninsula also serves as a space to drop off all groceries after entering the home. Curving the peninsula softens the look and is not a hazard for a clumsy klutz like me. One of my favourite kitchen features — the fridge is directly opposite the sink, making it super convenient to unload and rinse things right away. The extended countertop space has also been a dream for food prep! Clean lines and a consistent laminate keep the kitchen looking sleek and cohesive, while the warm brown tones add a cozy touch. Chose a traditional gas hob over induction — because I just can’t give up that wok hei in my cooking! To have a clean look, I used the same quartz for tabletop and backsplash! It was... a splash of money too! I went with a large single sink to make washing big trays and pots much easier. Skipped full top carpentry and chose a single open shelf instead — something I was hesitant about at first due to dust, but it turned out to be a smart, cost-saving solution from our ID. It brings in more light and neatly solves the awkward backsplash ending too! Our 2.2m dining table is perfect for hosting and where all the best conversations happen. I’ve always loved having a bigger table — not just for gatherings, but also for the simple joy of spreading food out comfortably. The double curves of the peninsula and half-height wall gently soften the overall look of the home, while subtly defining the different zones. One of my favourite areas — filled with natural light and an open, airy feel. One thing that stood out during house viewings was the spacious master bedroom — something I really appreciated. I’ve never been a fan of clutter or modular bedframes with built-in shelving, so loose furniture was the way to go. Skipped the storage bed too, as I prefer not sleeping on stored items — plus, better air circulation! The bedroom has a cosy, restful vibe. Using the weighted blanket from my parents' place has truly helped with my sleep. I love how the day and night curtains bring a different feel to the room, depending on the time of day. A surprise walk-in wardrobe! It’s such a private, personal space — truly a luxury I’m grateful for. This area doubles as a space for workouts too. To keep things consistent, I’ve used the same laminate as the rest of the home. The guest toilet — designed for easy cleaning with no glass divider, perfect for washing bigger items and even bringing my plants in for watering. I kept the tiles in a similar shade on both the floor and walls for a neat, clean look. Silver and white accessories help bring out the Japandi vibe. The master bathroom features large 600x600 modern terrazzo tiles, with half-height subway tiles adding a touch of detail to enhance the Japandi feel. Showering here daily feels like a luxurious hotel experience. Watch out for this space as more of the home will be featured in detail!
