  • Welcome to our Home Tour! 🏡✨ We spent $50k renovating our home and this is what it looks like 8 years on. We've blended our modern organic style with the needs of our young children. From thoughtful design elements that encourage independence to practical solutions that cater to family life, we’ve curated an environment where our little ones can thrive while still feeling connected to our family’s aesthetic. Join us as we explore each room and discover how we've maximized both style and functionality in our home.
  • Our home is warm and cozy, made for both kids and adults to live, work, and play together. It’s a practical space where we can get things done and have fun at the same time.
  • The living room is where everything happens—morning chaos, lazy afternoons, and winding down at night. It’s the space that keeps us all connected, one way or another.
  • We wanted to leave the floor space open so that it could be used flexibly throughout the day. This is where the children build their dollhouses and dance in the day, where friends and family gather, and where we do our regular workouts and movie nights. We placed two rugs on top of a rug pad to make one large open space for this purpose.
  • Our sofa is where we snuggle up to books and milk every evening. We managed to squeeze a small music nook nearby too.
  • This is our Dining and Kitchen area. The original layout had a wall dividing the kitchen and dining area, making both spaces small and odd-shaped. So we hacked the wall and shifted the fridge and part of the kitchen into the dining area. This worked out perfectly for hosting big parties as the counter space and shelves double as a drinks station. It also gives our young children have access to the dry pantry area to get snacks and water.
  • Our kitchen is small, but does it all. With no service yard, it’s where we cook, do laundry, and even managed to fit in a dishwasher. We make the most of every inch, using vertical height to dry our laundry. Guests are always amazed at how much we managed to pack in here!
  • We managed to squeeze multiple appliances in a tiny corner too!
  • We love keeping our open shelves practical, stocked with essentials for easy gatherings. Whether it’s a cozy family dinner or hosting friends, our guests always know they can help themselves to a drink. 🥂🍷
  • Our dining table seats 8, with a mix of chairs and a bench to fit a few extra guests when needed. The toddler chairs grow with the kids and fit nicely with the rest of the set. The bench also doubles as a low table during snack time, which the little ones enjoy.
  • Next to our dining area, you’ll find our entryway✨. We've turned this space into a practical haven with ample shoe storage and a counter for baskets that hold all the essentials—keys, masks, and tissues. The large catch-all basket is perfect for holding any random items.. like the Tupperware you have to return your Mum, while our kids' hanging rack and cozy stool make it easy for them to grab their bags and slip on their shoes.
  • Our master bedroom doubles as a cozy home office with dedicated workspaces for two. The challenge was to keep it serene and stylish while accommodating our work needs as one of us works in Marketing and is almost always WFH. I think we’ve done pretty well so far but we’ll prob make more adjustments as time goes by!
  • Kids grow up fast, and so do their needs! 🌟 We’ve kept our children’s room flexible with furniture that adapts to their changing styles.
  • This IKEA HEMNES dresser has been with us since our first was a newborn. A fresh coat of paint on the knobs adds a fun touch, and now it’s perfect for storing their folded clothes, empowering them to dress themselves! 🧒👗
  • We repurposed this Trophy shelf for their dresses, making it both practical and fun! Everything is placed at a young child's height to encourage independence and give them the freedom to choose their outfits. It's wonderful to see them take ownership of their style while keeping the room organized and vibrant!
  • Our last bedroom we intentionally kept flexible to allow for afternoon naps for kids, reading, play, and to use as a guest room when overseas guests come for a visit.
