  • Our little plant corner used to be in our service yard, where we have three panels of windows, perfect for happy plants! But since adopting our kitten, Mash, we’ve had to protect both our babies (plant + kitten)! Alas, our dining room became the green room :) As our home doesn’t get too much direct sunlight (with our main windows in the rooms and service yard), it was really wonderful to find out that the sunlight in our dining room was bright, but indirect! Once we shifted all our plants into the dining room, it became such a delight to have some greenery to look at whilst working/dining in this room.
  • This little moss ball cutie was our most recent addition, after visiting Far East Flora Centre. We love that its easy to care for, just needing a soak every once in a while!
  • When we first got this Alocasia Green Velvet there were only 2 leaves, its flourished since and we are now on to 5 leaves with another sprouting soon! We love the colour of its deep green leaves and how zen it looks from afar.
  • Another look at our Alocasia basking in the sunlight!
  • This Parlour Palm was from IKEA, and we're honestly pretty surprised at how well it's been growing since we got it! It's such a fuss-free plant to care for.
  • There was a period of time that our dates would almost always end up in a plant nursery (plant parents, amirite). This Syngonium Albo was from Noi Gardens, a wholesale plant nursery in Choa Chu Kang. It’s also symbolic to us, because when we visited, this was the first time we saw Mash as a stray kitten at the nursery! The plant has since grown taller with more leaves, as has our love for our little adopted kitten.
  • When we were furnishing our home, we weren’t sure if we could take care of larger plants, but loved the idea of having some greenery to balance out our grey walls and teak cabinetry, so the next solution was: artificial plants! We found an amazing gem of a place, The Craft Decor in JB, with artificial plants priced at a steal. This 2.2m artificial Areca Palm was from there.
  • We love that our artificial plants softens the antiques in our home, and also gives us peace of mind that our kitty isn’t in any plant danger!
  • Having artificial plants also helps with hiding awkward corners! We placed this 1.6m palm tree here as we had a large structural beam that couldn’t be removed, leaving behind an odd pocket of space. It turned out to be a great place for the plant, making this area easier for the eyes too. And that’s the end of our plant corner tour! Who knows, we may just add a plant or two more next week!
