Another favorite part of our house. Bathrooms! For our Common bathroom, we are rather conservative and chose a natural tone tiles. The effect really came out well and we love it!
We keep our Common bathroom simple and added a faux plant to make it feel more homely. :)
We did not do a close-up shower area due to space constraint and for better ventilation. Instead, we just did one panel of shower screen to ensure our carpentry is not damaged by the water.
We asked our ID to customize the racks using the remaining slab from our vanity counter top. It came out nice as it blends with the whole bathroom.
For both our bathroom doors, we invested in aluminum framed door with ribbed glass from Besglas. They are quite solid and came out nice. We also added frosted film on the ribbed glass for privacy reasons. Otherwise, it will be quite see-through. >.< We cannot imagine seeing our families and friends doing their business inside. Haha.
Next will be our Master Bathroom. This is a photo of our original Master bathroom before we renovate it. Actually we did not like the original layout of our Master bathroom as the vanity counter will be small. Hence, we shifted the position of our Master bathroom door to the right so that we can build a long vanity counter.
Glad that we made the decision to shift the door to build a long vanity counter. It looks more cozy with the long vanity counter. :)
I guess one of our boldest decisions is to opt for Kit Kat tiles for our Master bathroom. Even our tiler was complaining when he was filling the grout for us. Oops. Thankfully, the maintenance is not as bad as what we think. We don't want Kit Kat tiles to cover the full wall as maintenance will be a headache. Hence, we chose a darker tone and bigger tile for the bottom half and floor. 60 x 60cm tile size was recommended to us by our ID as this will reduce the number of grout lines. A darker and "dirtier" looking tile definitely also help make the bathroom floor look less dirty.
Many got a shock at the number of grout lines for our Kit Kat tiles. Don't worry it is not that scary if it is just half the wall. Haha.
