  • Welcome back to our kitchen, again! I'm showing you how things are organized in this place and sharing one reno regret of the kitchen that I have with you.
  • Starting from the side of the stove, we have a drawer within a drawer! This idea was suggested by my ID to keep the linings of the cabinets to be more uniformed on the outside. In the bigger drawer and bottom, we have the teas and tea sets kept.
  • Zooming in on the first inner drawer is where the utensils and some kitchen tools are. I especially love this adjustable cutlery tray from Nitori which can be expanded vertically or horizontally according to drawer size and the tools you have! The organization case fits in just nicely too if you need additional storage!
  • Blum mechanism for the sauce and spice rack
  • I've asked for drawers instead of normal open cabinets for this area below the hob to allow easy reach for items placed deeper. In the first drawer is where the plates and bowls are, followed by the pans and pots, and other cooking appliances in the bottom drawer.
  • I quite liked how these plate and bowl racks hold the dishware without knocking against each other when opening or closing the drawers, as opposed to the bamboo rack I first got from Ikea. They come with adjustable slots too, placing your plates and bowls according to its fit.
  • The cabinet above the hood is where the food containers and other smaller items are kept. I thought it's quite a waste of space above it and got a portable rack from Shopee for a second compartment to store the towels. Here's one organization tip you may take down to utilize space - cheap and easy!
  • Now, here's where my reno regret comes from. I can't remember whether it was brought up during the reno discussions before, but things will be way better if this was built with a pull-out rack or a bi-fold door meant for this deep corner. I have practically no idea how I could utilize this area because it is just not easily accessible! For now, it's a place to keep miscellaneous items until a better suggestion comes up. Does anyone have a solution for this to share?
  • The same regret goes to the top corner cabinet. It's really a waste of storage space..
  • Coming to the sink area, I take pride in minimizing water splashes and grime away (haha)! The stainless steel sink rack came with the reno package, convenient for draining washed dishes before keeping them away. I love how this sponge holder from Nitori can sit firmly onto the faucet without damaging it or the sink with its silicone cover. The openings from the holder allows excess water to drain off without ponding which can cause grime to grow (yucks)! Next, the diatomite tray from Bulbul is great for absorbing water, minimizing mess when washing and doing your dishes in the sink.
  • Here comes the under sink area, where my water purifier filtration unit is stored. I also keep the disposables, frequent use items and Baygone here for easy reach. The hanging rod is from Mr DIY which is used to hang spray bottle and cleaning towel for drying.
  • These magnetic racks are great additions as storage if you're running out of countertop space. They come with really strong magnet and is sturdy enough to stick onto the fridge. I use it to keep disposable paper holder for bones during meals, and keeping the alliums. Thank you for reading to the end, and I'd love to hear from you guys if you any tips to mitigate the deep corner storage problem!
