You’ve now walked into our bright & airy living room! We have filled this space with pops of colour through decor to add to the calming light wood tones of the tv cabinet and sofa. This area is rather small and cozy, but we have nice large windows which let in bright, indirect sunlight. We also get a very nice breeze coming through the house, which is why we opted for blinds rather than curtains. The blinds allow light in and lots of wind to flow through, while also maintaining a good amount of privacy at night. The sofa was one of E’s most important pieces of furniture for us to have in our home! We decided on getting this beautiful Mori set from Castlery. The set included the sofa, ottoman and side table. Besides comfort, one of the considerations we also had was to make sure that the legs of the sofa was high enough for our cleaning robot to go under. Since our living room space was quite small, we opted to not get a coffee table, and this C-side table was a perfect option, as it takes up little space and can also be placed in between the sofa for when we are having drinks. We love our little everfresh plant we received as a house warming gift from our friends. It came with a little bench, and D’s student had given her this toy fox that she realised fit perfectly on the bench! Instead of an L-shaped sofa, we opted to get one with an ottoman instead, which allows us the flexibility of moving it around when we have guests over to create more seating space. It has also been super great when we watch movies and we can push the ottoman to the middle of the sofa to share it! We positioned our sofa on the right side of the room to face the wonderful view of the greenery and a glimpse of the open sky (one of the reasons we chose this resale unit too!) Similarly to the sofa, we also picked a TV console that had higher legs to allow our cleaning robot to go under it. We had chose this to match our sofa’s lighter wood colour. Unfortunately, we should have rethought about buying bamboo furniture, as we are now having mould problems with it :( Will be attempting to clean and lacquer it to extend its lifespan a few more years… Finally, our cozy lights & plant corner! We have also filled the space up with lots of art to bring more colour into the space. While adding all these items, we have been trying to make sure there is still a cohesiveness to the entire home, but picking some main colours, like blue, yellow and orange, and spreading them throughout the home, as you might see here and with the pillows on our sofa too!
