  • Welcome to the tofu house! This week, the tofus are bringing you on a tour of the area they (unexpectedly) spend a lot of time in: the kitchen!
  • This was how their kitchen looked like before they moved in - before the tap was installed as well! In line with the tofu house's Scandi theme, they've chosen to keep majority of their carpentry laminates white, with some wood laminate the same as those used in other rooms. This made for an overall very clean look, which they really liked.
  • This is the dry kitchen area, or as they like to call it, the pantry! They rely quite a fair bit on their rice cooker and air fryer, and find it quite convenient to put this here opposite the stove so that they can seamlessly move from the stove to these cooking tools when needed. The tofus used to put all their coffee equipment here - however, this has since been shifted to make way for more dry foods (oops). Read on to see where they kept their coffee equipment!
  • You may have noticed that the tofus opted for a chimney hood and gas stove, both of which are surprising additions considering that they are not the most aesthetic or easy to use. The reason for this is that the tofus do quite a lot of cooking in their open kitchen. They were advised to install a chimney hood to better absorb the oil and grease, especially as their laundry area is right next to the stove. The gas stove is also because the tofus are looking to be a little more adventurous with their cooking and may consider trying wokhey dishes in future, so they thought this may be a lot more useful than an induction stove in the long run.
  • These were actually the very first kitchen tools that the tofus bought when they moved in! The tofus saw a lot of fantastic reviews for these tools from Modori and thought that they sounded quite good for the price point. So far, all good!
  • This is the sink area of the kitchen! As you can tell, the tofus do cook and eat quite a fair bit in their container so this area is always a little packed haha. They have an eclectic mix of tableware but mostly stuck to their Scandi colours of white, beige, and brown. This cute little cat-shaped hand towel hangs from the dish rack with a S hook - a clever 'innovation' by Tofu G!
  • We're now zooming in to what the tofus keep in their multiple cupboards ~ Many beans are quite surprised to know that the tofus fill almost every single cupboard with items even though they've only moved in a couple of months ago. P.S. all their cupboard interiors are lined with PVC laminates instead of Lamitak - they look similar but are much more wallet-friendly. This is where they now keep their coffee equipment, together with their health & sport supplements!
  • This is the cupboard right under the gas stove - it's a bit limited due to the gas pipe but the tofus have found it useful to store their cooking oil, sauces, and condiments here. They can just bend down and grab what they need even while cooking!
  • And last but not least, the tofus have a habit of buying items in bulk to keep in their kitchen, and their cupboards now look like a dry foods and canned drinks warehouse. They find that this is better than flooding their fridge though - they just ned to pop a few drinks into the fridge as and when they want to, and they can always have a cold drink ready!
