Meet our most "talked about" piece of furniture 👀

Hi folks 👋🏻 this month in our new home! And one of the biggest things we always get asked about, is our refurbished dining table. So today, we'll be sharing our most talked about piece of furniture in our home, and why it's so special to us 😉

Did you know, our original dining table and chairs were blue? 🤫 we adopted this from Carousell and we wanted to give it a new lease in life. Although the colour was beautiful, it didn't match our colour scheme and we decided to try our hand at replacing the tiles altogether. Thankfully it worked out, and we managed to buy 145 pieces of matching turquoise tiles from Hafary for the retiling ✨
It also required a fresh new coat of paint as the old blue was already wearing off. Note to self – always stir your paint even if its the same day you got it from the store! Or else this happens 🤫
Thankfully when we did it, our vinyl floor was not up and we made full use of the messy apartment to do our dirty work. Sanding, painting and tiling in a fully furnished flat would've been a pain to clean.
This was also the first time we tried grouting tiles, and it was more difficult than we expected, despite the challenge it turned out pretty even and we're happy with the results!
Till today, our dining table has served us well in our little home, it was a wonderful experience upcycling a piece of second hand furniture and we would definitely do the same for our next home. Till next time! ~Nay & ZQ
