  • Welcome to the heart of our home, the kitchen! It was the first room to capture our attention when we visited the house, thanks to its spaciousness. (The bathrooms, on the other hand, were woefully lacking in space, but that's a story for another day!) Shaker kitchen cabinets have always been a dream of ours, and we love the combination of baby blue from Arova and cotton white from Lamitak. Everything else was chosen to suit our coastal theme, from the off-white backsplash to the greyish blue floor tiles and the double farmhouse sink. We especially love the pantry, which is situated right near the kitchen entrance with a see-through door. This allows us to see what we have at a glance and forces us to keep things tidy.
  • Due to the layout of our apartment, we do not have a distinct physical space for an entryway. Therefore, we decided to create a "mudzone" in one corner to demarcate the transition from the outside world to our living space. We painted this corner with the leftover forest bather paint from Gush and installed picture ledges to display some of our favorite items, welcoming us home. The navy green shoe cabinets from IKEA perfectly complement the wall color, and we store our socks, keys, and grocery bags in them. The hooks, which I purchased from an old-school hardware store in Trastevere, Rome, are now used to hang our hats. I also added a mirror to reflect the sunlight from outside, brightening up the otherwise dark entryway.
  • We kept our master bedroom simple, as it's a room used only to unwind and rest. We love the calming energy that the forest bather paint from Gush lends to the space, and the fact that it's mold-resistant is a huge bonus! It's been a year in, and we haven't had an issue with mold on the walls, even though the room experiences quite a bit of moisture from the bathroom. We also really love the reeded glass door panels on our bathroom door - the soft light filtering through the reeded glass door panels creates a warm and inviting glow in the day, and the calming energy of the forest bather walls reduce the stimulation our senses experience throughout the entire day.
  • This is our living area that consists of our dining table and daybed. We were thinking of a rug in front of the daybed so it’s more cosy. We didn’t end up getting one however since we use the space to workout at home. As you can just make out, we store our weights below the daybed. We chose a daybed over a couch as this can sleep two guests if the occasion arises. Welcome to suggestions of how we can store our weights in a more aesthetically pleasing way :)
  • This is where we watch our shows and follow workout videos! We try to keep all furniture above ground for easy cleaning. We chose rattan and black for the TV console to tie in the darker colours in the living room together.
  • This is the original layout of the house, which we have not altered! We’re third generation owners since the apartment home was built in the 1970s. We kept the walls intact so that we could each have our own office and a room to retreat to.
